Sunday Afternoon

    Last Sunday, we held an activity for our buddies—cooking them a meal.
    The leaders of NYJC bought some materials from vivo city and came back at 2 PM. After called some of us together, we began to cook. Buddies would came in an hour, so time was limited,we needed to work together. Some of us washed vegetables, some cooked meat for noodles with soybean paste, some mixed the powder with water to prepare for dumpling wrapper,some mixed meat with Chinese cabbage to make stuffing,etc.After finishing all these preparing job,we need to fill the stuffing into the dumpling wrapper. I was in charge of  using a rolling pole to roll the dough into small, thin and round pieces so that they will be easy to cook. It was a long and complex way to make dumplings.What's more, it was the first time for most of us to make dumplings by ourselves, so we took a long time. We have't finished when our buddies arrived. So they came to help us. We enjoyed ourselves to work together. And finally, dumplings was ready and we let them to enjoy the dumplings made by ourselves.

    Dumplings carry a very special meaning for Chinese people. When Chinese people have guests for dinner, we prepare dumplings to warmly welcome our guests.
    It was a really memorable day.
