PE Lessons in NYJC

PE Lessons in NYJC
Peng Haoxiang
In this week, we have two PE lessons. One is on Wednesday and the other is on Friday. I am very interested about the sports, so I pay a lot of attention on the PE lessons.
The PE lessons in NYJC are really different from the lessons in china. And it uses many different ways to make people be interested about the exercise and sports, just like the two lessons I had.
In the first lesson, all of us came to the school playground. Because this is the first lesson for the students, the teacher taught us various ways to warm-up and their specific functions.

We had the second PE lesson in gym, which never happened in my senior high school in china. The teacher talked to us about the different uses of various kinds of fitness equipment. Also, I saw some kinds of equipment which I have seen before.

The PE lessons in NYJC are really colorful and I had a good time during the lessons.
Hope to experience more interesting things in NYJC.

First day in NYJC

First day in NYJC
Peng Haoxiang
First day in Nanyang Junior College, I am really excited and curious about everything. Also, I cannot wait to meet my buddy and start my new study life in NYJC.
NYJC has not made me feel disappointed, enthusiastic buddy, friendly classmates, conscientious teachers all impressed me deeply.
After having lunch, we had a hour for rest. So, my buddy, Jiajun, and my friend Wu Heng’s buddy, Lu Cheng, took us look around the schoolyard of NYJC.
The schoolyard is really tidy, clean and beautiful. Also, different from my first impression, it is very large and it has all kinds of equipment which is necessary for education.

This is my impression of NYJC. And I deeply believe that NYJC will let me have a good time this week.

JC Photo Journals

Here is my JC Photo Journals. We all enjoy the short but wonderful time. My lovely buddy, Teo Song En, and I are forever friends. I made a gift for her by myself. I named it "The Song of Two Song".

Let us look forward next party!

the added day of my JC immersion

Today is the last at NYJC, maybe strictly speaking, today is not always at NYJC, but we took part in an interesting activity, a journey to Fort Canning Park.

We walked around the beautiful park and learnt about the history of Singapore from 14th century to now. It is a wonderful journey. There is low trapeze, I and my buddies had fun here.

After that, we went to the shopping mall at Serangoon MRT station and had a nice meal. Japanese hot pot. We were eating and playing games as well. I could not forget the sushi, as forfeit, filled with wasabi and its maker, Pei Yu. Since both my buddy and I failed a lot of times and ate a lot.

It seems a transient ending of my JC immersion at NYJC, but I do not want to part from my buddy and many other friends. I hope we can keep contact with each other and maybe one day they can go to NTU visiting me or I come back to NYJC.
Thanks, NYJC! Thanks, my buddy, Mei Shuin! Thanks, many other friends, Jia Wen, Pei Yu, Yu Wei and so on! I like NYJC, I love you all.

Fort Cunning Trip---GUO DONGSHAN

Fort Cunning Trip
GUO DONGSHAN
Today is the last day at NYJC.
NYJC held a learning journey, which I did not pay much expectation to because of the numerous boring learning journy I attended before. However, Fort cunning gave me a little surprise today.
The first thing leaving me a strong impression is its beutiful environment. Thanks to our experienced guide, we found wide fig trees, cinnamon, cardamom, cocoa trees, and many other amazing plants. Look at what I got:

Another thing impressed is our guide. I  could feel her passion for life and nature from her every sentense, which reminded me of a recent phenomenon in my hometown that more and more teenagers tend to stay at home, if it is not neccesary to go out. People will always lose something precious under stress,  and they need someone to remind them what is important in our life. We had better keep a balance between inside and outside world whatever we are facing with.

Passion for life---GUO DONGSHAN

Passional life in NYJC
  GUO DONGSHAN
This is my third day in NYJC. Though three days are not a long time, I actually feel the passion of NYJC's students.
Classes here and those in China are both quiet, no one talks while a teacher is speaking. However, we can often see students sleeping between classes or even in class, which is not surprising. Chinese students are well known for overwork and overstress. Unlike students in China, I find that all students here are  quite concentrated in class. They do not seem to be so tired even under the stress of "A" level examination. Here are pictures I took from a class and a morning meeting:

Another thing also makes me feel their passion in school life. During a long break, we attended a spontaneus class meeting, which was not a normal one. Everyone came with food and sat in a circle.
Since it was the begining of a term, they started with introducing theirselves one by one. After that, they had a heated discussion about the design of their own class's T-shirt. I was told that it was their tradition to do so. Designing a class's T-shirt is rather an enjoyment than a burden for them. Here is a picture of their discussion :

I really admire Singaporen students' passion, which may be the biggest gain I got during these days in NYJC.

My last day at NYJC

This is my last day at NYJC. I carefully listened the last few tutorials and lectures, thinking that I will never have a chance to learn in any JC in the rest of my life. The past five days will be some of my best memory forever.
I'll always remember how kind my buddy and her friends are that they always answer the questions I asked her with great patience. I'll remember the artistic atmosphere in NYJC, the gym, the sea shell wall and the tables next to it which we've ever slept at.The most memorable: my friendly classmates.
Besides memory, I also gained some experiences. For example, I got to know what do Singapore students learn during their JC life; I listened to Local's English for several days that I can even speak a little; I also realized that my English needs to be improved urgently.
    It's a great experience!I love it.
